Semiconductor IC Design Practical Competencies

The semiconductor industry is the foundation of modern electronics, driving innovations in computing, communications, and consumer devices. It emphasizes technological advancement, efficiency, and reliability, with a focus on delivering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions.

Understanding semiconductors begins with integrated circuits (ICs), including CMOS technology, transistors, and logic gates, as the building blocks of digital circuits. Chip design follows a structured flow from high-level RTL design to physical layout, with verification, testing, and packaging ensuring the functionality and reliability of the chip. This document provides an overview of semiconductor principles, IC design flows, layout, and testing, offering foundational knowledge for both study and practical application.

PARTICIPANTS

Final-year students (third or fourth year) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree;
Recent graduates with less than 2 years of work experience;
Be in the following fields of study: Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IC Design, and related fields in the Semiconductors.
Proficient in English (minimum B1 level according to the CEFR – European Framework).

ADMISSIONS

Orientation: At the end of April – Early May
Training progress: Three months (expected from June to August)
Certification Ceremony: expected in September 2026

ANNUAL INTAKE

About 35 ~ 50 eligible students will be selected to participate in the VNCHIP Talent Program 2026.
